Rehmannia elata

The Chinese Foxglove, seen flowering in my parents’ garden. I don’t see this plant about too much, but it flowers all summer, is reasonably easy to grow and looks jolly splendid. Also, like our native Foxglove before it, the bumblebees go cuckoo-bananas over it!

Would this be grown from seed, Bertie?

Janet no problems at all from seed! Autumn sowing for flowers next summer. Also new plants emerge around the base in the first year that can be dug out and potted up.

What are the Cotswolds? I've seen that name in English novels but I have no idea what or where they are. I'm from Sicily but I'm in Rome for the summer. Many British people are now buying property in Trapani and its surroundings, thanks to Ryan Airways which has put Trapani on the map. I've been to London several times and I love it! I'm following you immediately! I hope you like to eat...I'm a good cook, especially when it comes to cakes:)

That is a new one to me. Thanks for sharing it!

This is one of those plants that leaves me with "zone envy." For us in the Southeastern US, foxgloves are exquisite in April, then melt in our heat. Oh, to have them into the summer!
